Sound has
a shadow.

Independent music, practical audio tools, and hard-won lessons for people who would rather make something real than chase an algorithm.

00 / Principle
Technology should not sand the fingerprints off the work. It should help the work reach another human being.
01 / Tools

Useful by design

Small, focused tools for the unglamorous parts of making audio. Less dashboard, more finished track.

MP3 Laundry v4 — Nuker Edition

MP3 Laundry was made to help authors who put meaning and real work into creating something new and beautiful with new tools and neural networks. But modern realities have their own rules. Everything leaves a digital trace, sometimes an unwanted one. This utility quickly and safely removes hidden tags from your files — the kind you can and should edit in free tools like Kid3.

Choose a folder, choose what goes, and run it again whenever another layer needs cleaning. Requires Homebrew and brew install id3v2. See the README inside the ZIP for setup and use.

What held up

Practical lessons from making songs, building visual worlds, and keeping an independent radio stream alive without a team.

01

GarageBand beyond the presets

Build a session that stays clear as it grows: route tracks with purpose, automate the moves that matter, shape space with sends, and turn stock instruments into sounds that belong to your song.

GarageBand depth
02

Warmth without the mud

Learn what tube color actually changes, where saturation helps a vocal or bass sit forward, and how to add harmonics without blurring the low end or flattening the performance.

03

A neural workflow you still direct

Move from lyric and melody to generated variations, select useful performances, rebuild weak sections, and clean the result so the tools serve a deliberate song rather than decide it.

04

Arrangement as emotional pacing

Give every entrance and silence a job. We map tension, release, contrast, and repetition so the second verse earns its place and the final chorus arrives with a reason.

03 / Services

Make it cohere

A song, image, and release should feel as if they belong to the same world.

Custom songs

An original song built around a person, memory, story, or occasion. The work can cover concept, lyrics, melody, arrangement, and a finished production shaped to carry the feeling without turning it into a template.

Ghostwriting

Lyrics, toplines, or complete song structures developed privately in your voice and for your project. We begin with what you mean, then refine phrasing, rhythm, point of view, and the details that make the song sound lived rather than generic.

Neural workflow help

Hands-on help turning AI-assisted fragments into an authored production. That includes prompt strategy, variation control, stem cleanup, editing, arrangement, metadata, and a repeatable process that keeps your judgment in charge.

Video & advertising

A visual concept and practical production package for a release, service, or campaign: music videos, short-form edits, cover frames, copy, and ad creative designed as one recognizable world instead of disconnected posts.

From the bench

Short notes on the tools, choices, and unfinished questions behind independent work.

Put Yourself In, Or Get Vomit Out

People say the information about Suno is not there. It is. They are just looking in the wrong places and not listening carefully. Suno is actually a very advanced instrument. The competitors are still smoking on the sidelines, despite all the lawsuits.

The main thing is simple: you have to put yourself into any instrument. Then it sings. Toss in a prompt about “if you ask how I am, I’ll say I’m better than everyone,” “light the fires of the earth, light them across the cities,” or “I’ll rise like a phoenix,” and that is the easiest thing in the world. I hate that stuff. It makes me want to vomit.

“Sun is the same in a relative way.” There it is. That’s where the dog is buried.

POST 001Why I built MP3 Laundry

MP3 Laundry began as a practical tool for authors who use new instruments and neural networks to make work with meaning, effort, and a human point of view. Modern files can carry hidden tags and digital traces that the author never intended to publish. The utility makes removing those marks quick, visible, and repeatable before the file leaves your hands.

It is not a replacement for understanding metadata. It clears the hidden layers, then leaves the ordinary tags where they belong: in your control. Free editors such as Kid3 are still the right place to review the artist, title, artwork, lyrics, and comments you actually want to keep.

POST 002The mix is never finished

A mix can always be adjusted. The vocal can move half a decibel, the room can become darker, the bass can give up one more frequency. That does not mean every possible improvement makes the song more honest. At some point, revision stops revealing the idea and starts protecting you from releasing it.

The useful finish line is not perfection. It is the moment when the listener can follow the emotional center without the production getting in the way. Save the version, step away, return on different speakers, and make only the changes you can name. Then let the song leave the room.
